Hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP)!

 

If you are 18 years old, enjoy helping others and having a flexible work schedule, the DSP position might be the job for you.

 

The Direct Support Professionals are the cornerstone of INcare Solutions.  They support individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in their quest for independence and community integration. The DSP must demonstrate the ability to communicate adequately in order to complete required forms and reports of visits and follow oral or written instructions. The DSP must demonstrate the ability to provide services according to the Person Centered Individual Plan or PCISP, willingness to accept supervision, and empathy for the individuals we serve. The DSP provides hands-on care with the individuals and must complete mandatory training (face-to-face and online), possess the personality of providing care, comfort, compassion, and creativity in the atmosphere of the individual’s home or in a community-based setting.

Responsibilities: The direct support professional is responsible for implementing the services outlined in the PCISP and documenting the progress of the individual. They will encourage the individuals to participate in their goals, offer choices and options, encourage them to use existing skills, assist with tasks, housekeeping chores, meal preparation and/or help the individual to engage in their communities.

 

The direct support professional will provide documentation of all training deemed necessary to maintain its competency in the performance of the services (i.e. certifications, medical information and professional licenses required to perform the services). The DSP must have the ability to pass a background check, have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance and reliable transportation (if applicable).
